Born to Learn has decided to require a deposit of 200 euros, per person, as a reservation fee in advance. This amount will be deducted from your last accomodation fee with us, once you are in Moshi. For those that are staying one month or less this amount will be deducted from their only one reciept to be payed on arrival. Once we receive the deposit and the exact dates of your trip we will send you the outstanding balance you will have to pay on arrival, so you have exact budget prevision before you come. Please find below the bank account we have opened only for these deposits. Please dont forget to put your name and sirname when you do the deposit.

We also want to inform you, as some of you already know, the Tanzanian Government "created" a volunteer visa at the end of last summer. Together with other NGO's and local companies we are fighting to try and stop this practice which we completely disagree with, due to the fact it attempts against the meaning of volunteering, but until there is any change we have to inform you this visa has to be managed at immigration offices on your arrival. The cost of this visa is 500 dollars per person. Due to this issue we have reduced our rates at Karibu Hostel for those volunteers staying with us for more than a month and a half to help contribute keeping budgets affordable and supporting the spirit of volunteering.

Due to this Volunteer visa the tourism companies in Moshi, worried about the lack of volunteers that might come to Moshi due to this reason, have organized some really special prices for volunteers wanting to do safaris, Mount Kilimanjaro etc... With this they want to try and balance expenses for volunteers and also contribute to NGOs operating in Moshi.

Many of you have asked us for info and prices for safaris and trekking options so please find included the prices we have negotiated for volunteers in Born to Learn exclusively and inform you that these companies will donate 10% to Born to Learn. This way they contribute to helping volunteers and also contribute to helping development in their own country.

Safaris: Ngorongoro, Tarangire y Lake Manyara, are the National parks near Moshi, we have been offered 150 dolars / day/ person all included.

Safaris: Ngorongoro y Serengueti which is further away, at 160 dolar /day / person also all included.

Mount Kilimanjaro: 980 dolars / person / 6 days, all included ( Tips are included but we do recomend to give tips to cooker and porters due to the very small salary they get for this job)

Mount Kilimanjaro Machame route: 1080 dolars / person / all included.

We also organize day trips to Marangu, Lake Chala, Lake Duluti, Arusha, Mount Meru and also help you out organizing your extension to Zanzibar if so.
